Beginning this fall, every middle and high school student will be issued a Chromebook at the beginning of the school year. Director of Technology Scott Gowan estimates that this move will save the District $300,000 annually.

The Francis Howell School District has named Dr. Ashley Mair as principal of Barnwell Middle School, effective July 1, 2026.

Barnwell Robotics team advances to world championships

In April, Barnwell Middle School’s robotics team, the Mighty Minors, will travel to Houston to compete in the annual FIRST LEGO League World Championship after winning the FIRST LEGO League state championship in January.

FHSD to host free back-to-school immunization clinic

The Francis Howell School District is partnering with Compass Health to hold a free back-to-school immunization clinic this summer. This clinic will allow all kindergarten through 12th-grade students in the district to receive routine immunizations.

U.S. News & World Report has named its 2025 Best Elementary and Middle Schools, ranking more than 79,000 public schools nationwide based on data from the U.S. Department of Education.
